Wulstan Fletcher
Wulstan is a founding member of Padmakara Translation Group and a Tsadra Foundation Translation Fellow. He is renowned for the beauty and eloquence of his translations into English, and has led a number of international workshops dedicated to exploring the nuances and challenges involved in translating Tibetan verse. Wulstan was born in England in 1952. He studied modern languages at Oxford University, and Greek and Latin patrology in Rome. In 1984, he began studying under Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche in Dordogne, France, where he completed a three-year retreat between 1986 and 1989, under the guidance of his teacher Pema Wangyal Rinpoche. Wulstan has stayed in Dordogne ever since, and is a founding member of the Padmakara Translation Group. He was invited to become a fellow of the Tsadra Foundation in 2001, and became a Khyentse Foundation Fellow in 2014. Working in close collaboration with his companion, Padmakara translator Helena Blankleder, Wulstan has so far contributed to the translation of about eighteen books.
